When I first accepted a position of teaching continuation high school, a few issues became immediately clear: (1) The Aeries Gradebook I had been using for my single subject classes in “regular education” would NOT work for my continuation students. Quite simply, with my 15 different students, who were each working in a different combination of subjects and at different speeds, I had the potential of roughly SIXTY different “gradebooks” to cover my grading needs! (2) The previous “methods” used by the previous continuation teachers would NOT work for me! This accounting system became a nightmare of a mess of scribbled notations, grades, and credits earned!)
To confront these grading and accounting challenges, I have created a digital solution that has made the process of grading, recording, and reporting of grades clear and streamlined. Session participants should bring a personal computer and come prepared to actively work with two rather large Excel Spreadsheet Gradebook files.
